A tough week to celebrate

This has been a really rough week (couple of weeks), but it's over and I came out unscathed, but not unchanged. So I am celebrating my strength. Oh yes, and my birthday month (I love it).

This past week was a little on the hectic side of good, but I and my family made it through. Sorry I missed last week's celebration, though.


The main thing I'm celebrating is the release of my new book tomorrow. It's been on preorder and it's been rocking the Hispanic American Charts. Looking forward to see how it does when it's released.

Fridays seem to be sneaking up on me lately. Last week I was eating cupcakes with a friend when I thought that I'd put it on my Celebrate post for the week. Um, it was on a Friday. Don't you hate when you forget what day it is. Anyway it was a wonderful time spent with a close friend. 

Started my new job this week. For me all the classroom is a stage.

Moving into my new apartment this weekend. Looking forward to a smooth transition.

Celebrating and giving gratitude for the joys of life.

I've started writing another romance set in Africa. I love my alpha males.

This week I am celebrating:

Digging myself out of a muck of low self-confidence this week. Sometimes you just have to go through it and find yourself on higher plane.

Working on first round edits for Destiny Mine. Although I'm grumbling some, I still love it. Not the pain of it, but the product.

I traveled all the way to Accra just to visit with my best friend for the day. I wish I could do it everyday. There was pizza and unruly toddlers involved. A fabulous day.

Only two more weeks of school. It's the final countdown. Does the song come to anyone else's mind? Here's a throwback video. Enjoy.

Happy Friday everyone! 

Not sure if this is good news or not, because it says a lot about my personality, but I was patient with all people (even the dumb ass ones) throughout the week. That's jump up and down worthy because it was hard. I did mumble the F word a lot, but only to myself.

I taught a classmate a few aerobics moves and we ended up having a great time. She already exercises on a regular basis so I know she'll maintain it.

I've written "The End" on my latest WIP. I am so happy. I love this romance. It all starts with a piece of chocolate cake. Can't you tell it's going to be great? Now to let it marinate so I can go back and fix it. Loads of work to be done.

To all my US peeps, Happy 4th of July. Be safe and enjoy the independence gained from the British (on that front Ghana and the US are one - except we didn't have to fight for ours).

I'm not a cat girl (allergy, plus they can be mean) but I know some of you are, here's a 4th of July cat lovers link from Herding Cats and Burning Soup that I enjoyed. 

My major celebration is that I started a cold on day 1, it peaked on day 2, and now it's receding. It's awesome to feel good.

I've survived the week unscathed. Even though I did questioned my sanity a few times while dealing with people. 

I got my first round edits for Destiny Mine (the second book of the Destiny Series). I have a lot of work to do on it, but it's good to see that my editor wants to make it the BEST BOOK EVER!

Although I'm not in the best mood right now, it's not affecting my celebration (Damn it!).

This was a good week.

1. Met up with a good friend. Ate, drank, and laughed. I went home a little on the tipsy side. Since I'm on a lifestyle change kick I opted to have my calories in the form of this make-your-eyes-cross red velvet cake (Two slices, but don't shake your head in disappointment).

By the way that's not water in the glass. Think fizzy alcohol. Yum.
More calories, but laughter burned most of them.

2. I started my last semester to get my Master's degree on Monday.  I love school.

3. Been getting along fabulously with my father. 

4. The Covergasm blog hop was so much fun. Today is the last day so head on over to win some prizes.

1. This was a cool week. I spent the weekend on a mini vacation on the mountains of Akropong. Here's a pic of the view with my Kindle. So restful. Had a drink with an old friend who lives in the area.

2. I got to talk to a new friend on the phone and had a fabulous conversation.

3. Safe return journeys from everywhere I travelled.

4. I'm cutting back on the amount of sweets I eat because I can't fit into last years clothes (nothing to celebrate), but I did splurge on an a three scoop ice cream- chocolate chip, cookies and cream and tirimisu. So good.

Happy Friday everyone. My whole week is worth celebrating.



1. I saw the new X-men movie. Hugh Jackman's naked tush, loads of action, and time travel, made for a fabulous movie.

2. Remembering my connection to everything. It hit me that life is one big puzzle, and the things that happen shape what the picture will look like in the end. I could almost feel the click of pieces this week.

3. Cupcakes. No pictures because I wolfed them down too quickly, but yummy!

4. The end of my blog tour. It's been a wonderful month going around to blogs I've never encountered before through the fabulous promotion of Love Bites and Silk. Engaging with commenters is fun, but I'm glad it's almost over. Tomorrow is the last day to enter to win a $25 Amazon gift card so remember to enter.

1. Every time I look at myself on BTS eMag I smile. My first emagazine interview ever. I also did a guest post about shower sex and the black woman on Kiru Taye's blog,  an interview on Empi Baryeh's blog, and a spotlight on Shelf Full of Books (a wonderful blogger who allowed me on her blog with a simple request - so nice.)

2. I had a good week of workouts: step aerobics, dancing, jogging (mostly walking but jogging sounds better), and jumping rope. I love exercising.

3. I realized this week how much I have changed back into who I used to like being. Happy, forgiving, and full of love. For the love of life, everyone, if you are stuck in a job you hate, change it so you don't become bitter. Burnout is a b&#@h.

4. I don't really have anything else to celebrate, but I love the number four. Let's celebrate four. Yay four!

Celebration of decision making

• I am so proud of myself. Last week I went through the whole Celebrate The Small Things blog list and commented on everyone's blog who was celebrating.
• My Love Through Time book promoter, Goddess Fish Promotions came over for an interview. I was shocked when they said they would do it and got back to me with the question responses within a few days. I shouldn't have been surprised, though, because they're awesome like that.
• I went to the gym on Saturday and used the treadmill, punching bag, and some mighty fine weights. "I'm going to pump," clap, "you up." Then point.
• My cousin came to visit me at work. We had a nice chat. A  friend called me out of the blue and we also had a nice chat.
• Making decision is hard for me, so when I can make one and stick with it, a celebration is warranted. 
• If anyone wants to send over some half priced Valentines chocolates, I'm always ready to receive.

This has been a light week which is one of the things I'm celebrating. No drama. 

I've found a blog which I absolutely love and have applied two things I've learned from her. Fabulosity Reads.

My closest friend is the bestest (intentional spelling) person in the whole wide world. The best specimen of a human being God could have ever created. She rocks. Not that I'm just learning that, but it's always good to shout it out from the rooftops every once in a while.

Mustn't forget free internet for three days. Good times.
