Have
you ever met someone who has an answer for everything? I mean everything. Sometimes they come out with
some pretty amazing information, while other times you whip your head around in
a double take and say “What the hell?”
Hi,
I’m Nana Prah, and I’m one of those people. I’ll admit that I’m better now than
I used to be. I can keep my mouth shut for longer periods of time even when I
know the answer, but sometimes it’s painful.
To
the best of my knowledge I have yet to invoke this know it all quality into any
of my characters in my novel Love Through Time, okay I may have snuck it in on
the heroine’s grandmother. All grandmothers know everything though. It’s their
job and duty to share this knowledge with us, whether we want it or not.
My
aunt gave me this ceramic plaque for Christmas many moons ago. I’m sure the
Nana actually means grandmother, but since my name is also Nana it stands for
me too. I hang it above my door in the living room so all my visitors can see
it. It would be too obvious to wear it as a necklace.
I
may not have all the answers in life, but if you ask me a question, I sure will answer you, even if it’s “I don’t know, let's look it up.”

It's true- grandmothers do know everything. And they can smell cigarette smoke from a mile away!
ReplyDeleteLOL. I take you tried to sneak past your grandmother a time or two after smoking.
DeleteNana, great post. It's nice to know I can turn to you for advice.I need it.
ReplyDeleteAny time Cathy. I will always have an answer ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL, Nana. You'll have a line of people waiting to ask for your advice - like Lucy with her 5 cent booth in the Peanuts cartoon. Although with inflation you could probably charge $1 :-D
ReplyDeleteLOL. I'll give it out for free. They can give me a gift, but only if they want.
DeleteHi Nana,
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my place via the AtoZ Challenge. My little girl calls one of her grandmothers Nana.
I have a question: What is the best way to get back to sleep when you wake in the night and your head is full of thoughts and worries? I had this last night. It was almost as if my mind woke me up just to raise these issues with me, you know, when it is quiet.
http://www.bibsey.co.uk
Well Bibsey Mama, Thank you for asking Nana. The best answer I can give you is that since you are awake you can pray or reflect on it, but not all night long. Those thoughts woke you up for a reason so they need attention, but don't let them steel your sleep because you need that dream time to help you come up with solutions. Writing about your worries in a journal can also help. The hardest thing to do is to not worry, but that is what you should do. Worrying never solves problems, it makes them seem bigger. I hope these few words help, even just a little.
DeleteWise words. And you are so right about worrying especially in the middle of the night. It is not as though you can do much about anything until the morning comes.
DeleteThanks
x
Your are more than welcome. Hope your worrying goes away.
DeleteMy kids ask their Nana everything... especially if they think I'm wrong.
ReplyDeleteDani (one half of) Cover Girls
LOL. Isn't that annoying?
DeleteThanks for stopping over at my place the other day.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome. Thanks for stopping by my page today.
DeleteAre you the oldest child in your family, Nana? I think the know-it-all gene comes with being the oldest. The only thing worse is when an oldest child marries an oldest child, and they spend spend time every day arguing over who knows more about stuff neither of them understand.
ReplyDeleteAsk me. I know.
LOL. You called it Liv. My brother used to ignore me. I'll keep that in mind when I'm choosing my spouse. Must not be a first born.
DeleteYour near and dear ones are so lucky to have you around! You'd be their Ms Sunshine! Super cool! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Shilpa. I think they are the most blessed people in the world to know me, but that's just my humble opinion.
DeleteCute that the plaque can work both ways! I do have difficulties with some people who may "know it all" but it's I would probably be okay with you because you recognize your dilemma and try not to take over everything. Hehehe... There are some topics that I have to just bite my tongue myself too so I could be considered in the same boat with you.
ReplyDeleteTake care!
Dee
LOL. Welcome to my boat Dee. Thanks for commenting.
DeleteHi Nana,
ReplyDeleteI am a grandma and yes, I do know everything ;-). Not really but I guess when you get older you can see when someone is going down the wrong road and what the end result will be and you just can't help sharing your wisdom and experience whether it's wanted or not. I've been given the 'stink eye' by leaders and instructors in meetings, classes and seminars I've attended for putting my 'two cents worth' in. Oh well, you only get old once.

LOL. And you don't care if they give you the 'stink eye' or not right? They will hear what you know they need to hear, and be better for it. Thanks for your comment.
DeleteHi, Nana,
ReplyDeleteThat's an unusual name and your post is a nice introduction to you. It tells me you're probably the 'go-to' girl among your friends. Nice to 'meet' you.
Thanks for coming to my page J.L. I kind of feel like I've had a celebrity siting.
DeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteLovely blogpost. It's true whenever I'm confused I go to grandmother whom I call Nana and ask her all sorts of questions, she comes out with the simplest answers and the easiest solutions. It's true Nana does know all. Nice to know another 'Nana' whom I can worry with my questions sometimes maybe. Glad to discover your blogpost through this challenge!
Thanks Sunday visitor. Grandmothers have both the knowledge and attitude to help a person make the best decisions. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
DeleteYour writing is delightful! Thanks for visiting my blog yesterday. Nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joy. Thanks for paying me a visit too.
DeleteThis made me laugh. I have a step brother who has an answer for everything, even though he often doesn't know what he's talking about...but I'll definitely listen to someone who does know :-) Love your blog--It's happy!
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy. I'm glad I could make you laugh.
DeleteFunny. I call my know it all friends KIAs (Know It Alls). I love it that you can admit that you're that way. At least you're honest lol
