Love Through Time Excerpt © Nana Prah 2016

Jasmine fit into his body as if she’d been carved from him. It was such a peaceful embrace, a perfect fit of two bodies in sync, two souls in harmony with each other.
Sean felt the most at home he’d ever been with anyone. He knew her and somehow he could sense that she knew him, even though they were total strangers.
“How are you feeling?” he asked.
“Embarrassed, but I’m better.” She stepped out of his hold and continued their stroll.
He overcame the urge to pull her back into his arms where she belonged. He’d never reacted to a woman like this and didn’t know how to handle it. Usually he was Mr. Cool when it came to women, but Jasmine had him all shaken up, putting him at a loss for what to say.
They walked for a little while without speaking. “Why don’t you ever look at me?”
“What?” She kicked a rock on the path.
He grabbed her arm to turn her around. “Why don’t you ever look at me? There’ve only been three times I’ve looked you in the eyes. When Ed first introduced us, after you’d eaten breakfast, and then after you came downstairs from your shower. Ever since then you’ve been going out of your way to avoid me.”
Her gaze remained focused on her feet as she shrugged.
“Will you please look at me?” His voice was calm even though a desperate need to look into her beautiful brown eyes once again rode him. He braced himself for the anticipated pain he’d experience with the full onslaught of her gaze at close range. It would be worth it. “I’m afraid,” she mumbled.
“Of what? Am I so ugly you fear turning into stone?”
Her full lips curved into a small smile. “Not at all.”
“What are you afraid of?”
Nana Prah first discovered romance in a book from her eight grade summer reading list and has been obsessed with it ever since. Her fascination with love inspired her to write in her favorite genre where happily-ever-after is the rule.

She is a published author of contemporary, multicultural romances. Her books are sweet with a touch of spice. When she’s not writing she’s, over-indulging in chocolate, enjoying life with friends and family, and tormenting nursing students into being the best nurses the world has ever seen. Nana loves to connect with her readers on Twitter @Nana Prah and Facebook at Nana Prah, author.

Cover reveal for Love Through Time

So far 2016 has been very busy, but oh so good. As you know Entwined Destiny has been released. I have also decided to revise Love Through Time. With a revision comes a brand new cover. I absolutely love my old cover, but I thought I’d go for something different with the new one.

I contacted Taria Reed and she came up with an oh, my goodness cover that blew me away. She gave me magical, romantic, and just plain gorgeous.

The Blurb

I figured that with new book covers splashed with my name on them, I needed to update my FB, Twitter, and Google plus banners to reflect my more multi-published state.  And this is what Love Bites and Silk Promotions came up with for me.

Yes I am one very happy little author right now.

I hope you all have a fabulous day.

Multi-published Bragging Rights #Romance #Author #Writer #Yay

I never got to officially showcase a cartoon I had done by the fabulous Heather R. Holden (she does these amazing comic strips). I love what she came up with (not just because it's got purple in it either).

Sometimes it blows my mind that I, Nana Prah, am a multi-published author. It's incredible only because it was never on my things to do list. I never thought I'd be a writer. An actress, yes, but not publishing books. And now with four books under my belt, there's nowhere to go but MORE. I'm on it!

By the way to help make your choosing a little easier, two of my books are on sale at Amazon for 99 cents. Love Undercover and Destiny Mine. The others are full price, but I have to say that they are totally worth it.

Destiny Mine is also in print. Yes, print! So for those of you who enjoy snuggling up with a good book and turning actual pages then get yourself a copy.

When Romance is Traumatic #Romance

Eons ago (back in high school) my friend Jane and I went to see Untamed Heart with Marissa Tomei and Christian Slater. Since the movie is virtually ancient, I’ll let you know that Christian had a heart defect (he called it a baboon heart) which could no longer sustain his life. They fell in love and then he died. After all these years I still recall the conversation my friend Jane and I had.

Me (gushing): That was such a good movie. So romantic.

Jane (jaded): But he died. Now she’s going to have to go through life knowing that she once had love and now it’s gone (said with arms akimbo).

Me (disappointed in myself for not having thought of that aspect, yet still a pseudo optimist): Oh. But she found love and enjoyed it while she had it. Some people never experience that kind of intense love.

Jane (not convinced and looking at me askance): But he died.

In my book LoveThrough Time, the grandmother – who’s a hoot by the way- says something similar to Jasmine, the heroine. I chanelled the long ago conversation I once had with Jane to write the scene. In my humble opinion, I believe it’s better to love someone for a short time than not at all.
Of course loving them for a long time would be way better.

I also wanted to add the lyrics to Garth Brooks song The Dance to the novel, but it would’ve been a tiny bit of overkill.

Here is the song for your listening pleasure.

What's your opinion? Is it better to have loved and lost or never have loved at all.

The author buzz is all about ... well me! #Romance #Multicultural

Every word you are about to read is true (Or it will be very soon!)

These days everywhere you turn, people are talking about Nana Prah. Not for her fantastic teaching skills of student nurses or her brilliant smile, but because she’s one of the hottest authors on the planet. No one can quite figure out where she came from. One day she sold a few books and the next the next – BAM! Best seller lists all over the place.

With multiple books to her name she’s been around for a few years. But what makes her so spectacular?  She says she writes books that she’d want to live in herself. It turns out that the people can really relate to her stories because they are buying them in droves.

Look at what people are saying:

Love Undercover
I knew Nana Prah could write, but she blew me away with this tale. I hung on the edge of my seat throughout, couldn't turn the page quickly enough to get to know what happens next. The characterization is amazing - I felt like I knew Sarita, Matt, and even Rhee Hana, not to mention the other inmates in the jail.       ***** Zee Monodee

Midwife to Destiny
This story was so touching, tender and steeped with goodness. I loved the natural, real feeling of the characters, settings and plot. Some characters in romances are cardboard cut-outs. These characters are unique, real and deep. I loved reading about how Ora had to face up to her deep-seated fears and pain. I loved the process she went on.

Love Through Time

Her debut novel is well written and explores the area of past lives that leaves the reader wanting to know more. Prah colorfully expresses family dynamics through sassy dialogue, flippant attitudes, and loveable characters.      ****Ready Reader

That Idiot Moment

Every book has one. The moment when you’re reading and the words slip out of your mouth because it’s too restricting to contain. You shake your head and say, “What an idiot!”

The character has hit the point of sheer dumbness. It happens in every book. It can be the hero, heroine or even both.  Sometimes you can see it coming from a mile way, but other times it takes you so much by surprise that along with uttering the words, you smack yourself on the forehead.

It’s the nature of the romance beast. Someone has got to do something so ridiculously stupid that you call them an idiot. If this moment wasn’t present we’d think the characters were perfect and wouldn’t be able to identify with them. In life we do idiotic things all of the time because we’re human. We learn and grow from these experiences, just like the characters in the novel.

Even as a writer, while a character’s stupid action is flowing onto the keyboard, we want to stop them and sometimes we try, but such scenes are so fascinating and dramatic to write that we can’t stop until we’ve finished the scene with a headshake and a murmured, “I can’t believe she did that. Idiot.” As if we weren’t the one to write it in the first place.

Do you think idiot moments are necessary in a novel?

I’ll leave you with one of my favorite songs by Jimmy Fallon - Idiot Boyfriend.

Love Is In the Air Blogfest

The ladies at the Unicorn Bell have organized a blogfest all about love being in the air going on from January 20th - 24th. I’m giving away a $5 Amazon Gift Card to one lucky person who leaves a comment on my blog.

There’s nothing like a first kiss that’s shrouded with sizzling tension. Where the couple has come close to kissing a couple of times before, but were interrupted. When the kiss finally happens, there’s some sort of zap or spark of electricity as their lips touch in gentle caresses long before the tongue gets involved. Can you tell I’m a fan of sweet romance?

But…Those wild and passionate kisses where the couple gravitate towards and kiss with lips, tongues, and hands everywhere. The terms hot and wild abandon come to mind when I think of this kissing phenomenon.  Can you tell I love a spicy romance, too?

I’ll leave you guessing as to what kind of first kiss the hero and heroine share in my debut novel Love Through Time, but if you’re curious buy a copy and find out.
