B is for Best friend catch phrases (Bouyaa!)

I have no idea how to spell the word, but I love saying it. Ron Stoppable from the cartoon Kim Possible used to say Bouyaa, and years later I’m still saying it.

Catch phrases make the best friend character more memorable and usually adds a comedic feel to a movie or sitcom. I don’t often find best friend catch phrases in novels. I think this is because the words would be repetitive and the reader tends to like fresh words and ideas as s/he moves along (I'm guessing here).

My favorite catch phrase is from the movie Three Can Play That Game where the best friend keeps saying, “That’s that bullshit right there.” I love it. She’s basically talking about men, but the phrase can be added to all sorts of things. Apply it and see if it fits during an inconvenient situation in your life. I do it all that time.

What is a best friend catch phrase that you can’t get out of your mind?

Clearly, I don't say it enough. I wonder what my hubby's reaction might be if I started saying it around him? hehehe

  6. One of my friends used to roll her eyes at me when I said something which showed I wasn't on the same page and say 'what am I rearing?' as if she was my mom. It was funny the way she did it.

  7. BFF's - My best friend and I didn't really like each other until we got put on a project together in 7th grade. Who knew she was really fun? We were in each other's weddings, and even though we live far apart - She's in Alaska, I'm in Ct, we see each other once a year. She comes back to NY to see her family and we always get together. I hope to get to Alaska someday :)
