My Review

This was by far the most emotional of the three. Ms. Briggs took Mercy in a direction that surprised me. Because of my happily-ever-after nature, it didn’t enjoy the full ride only because it made me so sad and angry.

Ms. Briggs got elaborate when it came to describing rooms and the environment. I thought this bogged down the flow of the story a little. The action wasn’t as intense as in the first two books, but she did ratchet up the emotional level. I felt so badly for Mercy. I would never want to be a character in one of Ms. Briggs novels, she has no qualms about hurting them if it moves the story forward. I guess this is what makes her writing so intriguing. We never know what we’ll get from her.

I’ve already purchased the fourth book in the series and have started Mercy's next journey.
