Review of Island Bound by Kiru Taye

This is the second book I have read by Kiru Taye and the second one I have enjoyed tremendously.Island Bound is a romance novel set in Nigeria. A lack of communication and insecurities are the cause of the breakdown of Christy and Joshua’s marriage. Although their attraction is still strong, it is not enough to keep the relationship glued together, at least that’s how the Christy sees it.

Joshua’s only aim is to save their marriage so he invites (blackmails) Christy into going for a vacation with him on Brass Island. Christy agrees to go only to obtain something she desperately wants from Joshua.
Kiru Taye has a way with description that keeps everything in the mind’s eye without dragging out the story. I  felt as if I was on the lush island with the characters enjoying the beautiful scenery. Kiru is an exceptional writer who has written a great romance.
I would give Island Bound four out of five chocolate bars.

  1. I'm sure I would love to read this, Nana.It would be lovely to find out what happens in the Island. I wonder why Nigerian books are had to come by in Ghana. Well, with the exception o the African Writers Series.
