I
sometimes wish I was a more creative person but I’m not. Yes I’m a writer and I
love the field, but most of my ideas come from people and situations I’ve come
across instead of things that are brand-spanking-new.
I
write like a dream exists. Have you ever heard that dreams consist of people
and things that you’ve already been in contact with? The brain doesn’t make
things up when its dreaming. This is what I do when I write. Take things I
know and put them into various situations that make for a whole new experience.
I
have nothing but the utmost respect for people who can create a world, come up
with different types of names, and choreograph scenes that would have never
thought to enter my mind. I don’t possess such a gift.
I
realize I may not be making the best case on why you should buy my book. I’m
not super creative, artistic, or a ground-breaker. But I can:
1.
Take my observations and mix them into a captivating story
2.
Add humor
3.
Make the reader relate to my characters, finding a piece of herself in at least
one of them
4.
Transport a person to a land they’ve
never visited and have them feel as if they’ve been there
5.
Portray romance in the truest sense. In a way that makes a person say, “I want
that”
And
there you have it. Creativity doesn’t only show up as the building of grandiose worlds and situations, but can be
interwoven into the everyday events of life to make them spectacular within a
story.
