This week I'm sharing from Healing His Medic (The Protector Series, Book 1).

 And just like that she knew her romantic whims about him would never come to fruition. The man was too stern to ever put her at ease.

If she were to fall for someone he’d have to be able to protect her and make her laugh. Make her melt in his arms. He’d be enough to override the hell she’d been through in the past five years. Her light in the middle of a so far grueling, debilitating tunnel.

Basic communication, which he didn’t possess, would be mandatory.
