Raise your hand if you ever thought you set a blog post to go live on a certain date and time, but the next thing you know, you hit the Publish button and its out there for the world to see? Grrrrr.
There are two options when this happens. Rush and take it off (having your Triberr mates share a link to nothingness and your interested followers scratching their head wondering where the post went) or leave it. Both are annoying.
Here's to a blooper free blogging month.
This is one mistake I haven't made yet, but I once thought I did so I got to experience the stress. Now I rarely schedule. I just leave them as drafts until I am ready to publish (unless I am traveling).
ReplyDeleteLucky you, Rhonda. The internet system is wonky here, so I don't want to miss putting up a post.
DeleteHahaaa...I've done that. And it was for a writer's cover reveal and I was horrified!! But actually it's no big deal in the end. Have a good day.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I'm extra careful when it comes to writer's cover reveals. Super careful, actually.
DeleteI don't think my blog has the ability to schedule posts - probably a good thing. I'm sure I'd have that blunder more than once.
ReplyDeleteIt's good not not post earlier than you'd intended.
DeleteOh my gosh . . . knock on wood, I haven't done that. More than once. lol. It was a post I was setting up as a guest, I just fixed the title and let it be. Then, of course I had to write something entirely new for the guest post lol
ReplyDeleteLol. More work for you, but it turned out well in the end. Always a good thing.
DeleteGuilty! I've done this more than once!! If it's just spelling errors its easy to go back and fix. Great to be in the position where the post is already being shared! A happy 'blooper free blogging month' to you too.
ReplyDeleteThanks HJ. I accept your good wish with arms wide open.
DeleteLOL. Happened to me too. Bad idea to be blogging when tired.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, Caffe. But that little mistake gives you more energy than you ever anticipated.
DeleteI scheduled mine to post for the first time ever this week! It didn't work. So, then I checked the time and it's set to some other time zone on my computer. GRRR! Oh, well. Technology can be such a pain!! Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
ReplyDeleteI think I did it once and then rushed to take it off immediately I realized the mistake!
ReplyDeleteI think I did it once and then rushed to take it off as soon as I realized the blunder!
ReplyDeleteYep. Been there, done that. And the only way I found to take it off was to delete the whole darn thing and start over. Double Grrrrr.
ReplyDelete...and now I am laughing like a fool! My thoughts exactly. ...though it's really annoying when you have set up a post to be published on a schedule, hit 'publish', go on your merry way, then return to your blog to see if anyone enjoyed the post... And discover you got the date wrong. *sigh*
