Vikki at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author has started a meme where every Friday we post what we are celebrating for the week. Thanks Vikki.
I have done something stupendous this week. I am so proud of myself that I may dislocate my shoulder with all of the pats to the back.
My friend challenged me to go without sugar for seven days. I could have honey, but that was it. No sugar and no processed treats. I'm happy to announce that today I have completed the challenge. Yay, me!
How do I feel, you ask (whether you did or not)? It surprised me that my emotions (meaning temper) were stable. I thought I'd be going nuts with the need for sugar, but I was wrong. I don't feel super fit or anything, but I feel okay.
What are you celebrating this week?
Go you! That's definitely something to celebrate. I don't think I could do that because I work in a cinema/cafe and the bakers are always asking me to taste something new they've whipped up.
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate. I think I'd love doing your job.
DeleteWow, that's fantastic, Nana. I have such an awful sugar problem. I wonder if I could handle that?
ReplyDeleteI think I'm going to have to lower my sugar intake significantly after this challenge. Too much sugar has a negative impact on my emotions.
DeleteThat's awesome! Congratulations!! And I do hope you don't dislocate your shoulder but it would be understandable. :D
ReplyDeleteLol, Julie. Thanks.
DeleteIt's one of my fervent wishes to go completely off sugar. I've tried several times only to go back again (sigh). Well done, Nana.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I could go off of it forever, Celestine. But I will be reducing it.
DeleteGood job, Nana! You should be proud. Sugar can become addictive and there are healthier alternatives.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deanie.
ReplyDeleteWow no sugar, go you!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a great feat.
DeleteYou did it! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCan't say the same for myself. If the stakes are high, I will go for it.
It was temporary, but I'm going to be reducing the amount I take in.
DeleteThanks you so much for your good wishes on Julie's blog about my cover reveal. I gave up sugar a long time ago, but I use sweetener, and I definitely wouldn't do the no-processed treats thing, but that's because I did that for years. I was a singer/dancer and had to keep my weight down. Ack! The list of things I couldn't eat was longer than the list of those I could. But I'm retired and making up for lost time by stuffing my face now!! LOL
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you for taking your friend's challenge and winning!
LOL. I always wondered what happened to models and dancers once they left the limelight. Now I know.
