Celebrate the small things. This week it's gigantic.

Vikki at Scribblings of an Aspiring Author has started a meme where every Friday we post what we are celebrating for the week. Thanks Vikki.

I have done something stupendous this week. I am so proud of myself that I may dislocate my shoulder with all of the pats to the back.

My friend challenged me to go without sugar for seven days. I could have honey, but that was it. No sugar and no processed treats. I'm happy to announce that today I have completed the challenge. Yay, me!

How do I feel, you ask (whether you did or not)? It surprised me that my emotions (meaning temper) were stable. I thought I'd be going nuts with the need for sugar, but I was wrong. I don't feel super fit or anything, but I feel okay.

What are you celebrating this week?

  1. Go you! That's definitely something to celebrate. I don't think I could do that because I work in a cinema/cafe and the bakers are always asking me to taste something new they've whipped up.

  2. Wow, that's fantastic, Nana. I have such an awful sugar problem. I wonder if I could handle that?

    1. I think I'm going to have to lower my sugar intake significantly after this challenge. Too much sugar has a negative impact on my emotions.

  3. That's awesome! Congratulations!! And I do hope you don't dislocate your shoulder but it would be understandable. :D

  4. It's one of my fervent wishes to go completely off sugar. I've tried several times only to go back again (sigh). Well done, Nana.

    1. I don't think I could go off of it forever, Celestine. But I will be reducing it.

  5. Good job, Nana! You should be proud. Sugar can become addictive and there are healthier alternatives.

  6. You did it! Congrats!

Can't say the same for myself. If the stakes are high, I will go for it.

    1. It was temporary, but I'm going to be reducing the amount I take in.

  7. Thanks you so much for your good wishes on Julie's blog about my cover reveal. I gave up sugar a long time ago, but I use sweetener, and I definitely wouldn't do the no-processed treats thing, but that's because I did that for years. I was a singer/dancer and had to keep my weight down. Ack! The list of things I couldn't eat was longer than the list of those I could. But I'm retired and making up for lost time by stuffing my face now!! LOL

Congrats to you for taking your friend's challenge and winning!

    1. LOL. I always wondered what happened to models and dancers once they left the limelight. Now I know.
