When I first came to Ghana I
was sitting in a public transport vehicle when the lady next to me suddenly
popped out her breast and started feeding her baby. I was surprised, but in a
good way because it was such an acceptable action, no one in the vehicle was
uncomfortable.
As a nurse in the US I once taught a
patient how to pump her breast milk for her premature baby who was in the
intensive care unit. I was so happy to see the milk flow that I clapped (she
kind of thought I was crazy, but I found the whole process to be miraculous).
God is fantastic to have created natural free, healthy nutrition for babies in
the form of breast milk.
