My Review

This is the second book of the Guardians of Eden Series. I want more of the series, but I'm out of luck because I started with book three. I loved it. Warrior Reborn is a story with action, science, superheroes and loads of romance- four of my favorite things in a book.

I think Ms. LeMoyne’s writing is fabulous. As in my other reviews I have to mention how dynamic she is with her ability to set a scene in the mind's eye.

 Spunky Briet and methodical Jason made a wonderful power couple.  Both of them had to overcome their own issues about the relationship before they could allow their destinies to unfold.

Although it is a series book, it reads as a standalone, giving little snippets of what happened in the previous book. Very well done.

Just thinking about the books makes me smile. Wonderful.

Now if I could only get her to write stories about the other Guardian team members.

Review: Betrayal’s Shadow (The Guardians of Eden Book 1) by KH LeMoyne

I read this series out of sequence. The third book, Destiny’s Mark called to me (read my review here). I loved it so much that I had to read the first book.

My Review 

I’m not sure what it is about Ms. LeMoyne’s writing, but it's descriptive enough to help me envision the scene in all of its glory, but not so wordy that I get bored. I think it’s a wonderful gift she possesses.

Betrayal’s Shadow was a fantastic book. The story wove action, romance, history (of the Guardians), intrigue, and emotion together perfectly.

Mia’s strength and intelligence was a boon for the story. She was adaptable and this made her an asset, especially when it came to the execution of a plan that was absolutely amazing (no spoilers). Mia was awesome! Turen was a gorgeous, tortured (literally) warrior who was filled with so much love for Mia that it kept me smiling throughout the book.  Mia and Turen became friends, with an underlying simmering chemistry, in spite of the horrible circumstances. This made the relationship more real to me. It was a wonderfully told passionate love story.

I didn’t want to put the book down. Lucky for me I have book two, Warrior Reborn, to look forward to. If you want a novel that is fast paced, destiny driven, and different from any book you have ever read, then Betrayal’s Shadow is for you.

I give Betrayal’s Shadow five out of five chocolate bars, shaped like chains.

Book Review: Destiny’s Mark (The Guardians of Eden Book 3) by KH LeMoyne

Destiny's Mark by KH LeMoyne was fantastic. Jai Dashkov and Tsu Halan are two intense, past laden-ed  individuals who are destined to come together to create a love so great it transcends both of them as individuals. I love the premise of destiny and ‘mates’ and KH LeMoyne’s aspect of the age old concept did not disappoint. 

LeMoyne’s writing is descriptive and action packed. She immediately drew me into the story and kept me there. It wasn’t just her description about the beautiful surroundings that captured me, but her ability to write about martial arts in such a fluid yet lethal way that it made me wonder if she was a martial artist herself. Tsu is deadly and yet we see that in the love scenes with Jai an opposite demeanor is displayed. He is gentle, loving, patient and giving. Sigh.

Sign me up for superpowers. The Guardian’s are a fascinating race of people who’s powers are so realistic that it seems they can actually exist in this human world of ours (not just on the fictional level). I was initially lost about this whole Guardian race business, after not having read books 1 or 2, but LeMoyne gradually found me and caught me up to speed.

If you want a book with a love story that will leave you knowing that love does truly exist, brilliant martial arts, gorgeous scenery, and a truly well written book then Destiny’s Mark is for you. I give it four out of five chocolate bars. Yum.

 

What attracted me to Destiny’s Mark? (As a side note)

1. I will honestly tell you that the cover was my initial focus. It’s beautiful, and the guy is hot.

2. I’m a sucker for any title with 'destiny' in it.

3. But I’m not all that shallow, it was the interesting blurb that cinched me.
