R is for Romance Writer Nana Malone #atozchallenge

Did I cheat by using the R for Romance? Not in my opinion because the fabulous Nana Malone, USA TODAY bestselling author is from Ghana and comes to visit quite often? I haven’t met her yet, but I’m in love with her books. Brilliant writer. If you like a lot of heat in your romances, then pick one up.

She has a new book out which is sitting on my Kindle calling to me.

The Blurb

It wasn’t exactly like spunky, photography student, Abbie Nartey ran away from her life…except, that she left under the cover of darkness and put three thousand miles between her and her ex-boyfriend’s betrayal. She went to London searching for her dream. She never expected to find love, or herself.

Heir to his family’s tech fortune, sexy, Alexi Chase, is looking for freedom—from his family and from his past. What he’s not looking for is love. With secrets like his, he can’t afford to let anyone get too close. But a chance rescue has him wondering if the price of keeping secrets is too high.

Will Alexi risk losing love to keep his past hidden? Will Abbie trust herself enough to love again? Or will their pasts keep then from accepting true love?

  3. I'm hoping more people will start to realize that true romance comes from hooking up with one, land only one, person for life. You get what you give, love and excitement included. Sounds like that might be what Ms. Malone's characters eventually discover sqq hopefully she doesn't tarry too long in the before-time.

    1. I'm not sure if I agree with you philosphy, Robert. But I appreciate your opinion.Such things can happen in romance novels and movies, but doesn't always work out like that in real life. people change, sometimes for the worst.

  5. She has "spunky" in her first line of the blurb. I like her already!
Never heard of her, but sure...she can be my second favorite Nana in the world. Must look her up.

(Oh, by the way, I would like to change the word "dare" to "challenge" in my previous comment, fingers crossed that does the trick... lol)

    1. Lol. I'm glad I'm not being replaced as your favorite Nana. Sorry, changing the word won't help. The heroine, Esi, won't have it.

  6. LOL! No, I don't think using "romance" is cheating. Besides, we're near the end of the challenge, so exceptions to the rules are perfectly acceptable. =)

  9. Add my vote in that it's not cheating. I have a Nana Malone book on my TBR and I need to get busy and read it. Romance leads to some awesome escape reading.

    1. That's why I read this genre. Nothing too taxing. I get enough of that in real life. I'm looking forward to reading her book to.

  10. I haven't read a straight-up romance book in a while (although plenty with romance as a subplot), but spunky heroines definitely make for the best romance stories.

Hope you’re having fun with the A to Z challenge,
    Jocelyn
