I love this series. Unfortunately the bundle doesn't include the first book - which is AWESOME. |
After reading for an hour I’ve only gotten
through 2% of the series? What? So it seems to take me longer to read it even
though it really doesn’t.
Even when I’m reading the most fantastic books in the world, I’m talking novels that will make me cry when then finish only because they
ended, I still want to see that the book won’t go on interminably.
I bought book 1 first. When I fell in love with it I bought the box set. Best investment ever. |
Unless the box set contains a book that I really want to
read and I know I’ll read the whole series, then I’ll skip the set and go for
the single read.
What’s your opinion? Are you a box set buyer? More
importantly, reader?
I'm with you, Nana. I rarely buy box sets unless there's a couple of books I'd like to read. I hate to waste good books and feel obligated to read them if I'm not interested. I'll go for the single read also.
ReplyDeleteAnd I guess I have an undiagnosed personality disorder too because I have a habit of always checking where my bookmark sits in the pages. :)
Lol. I think we're always checking because we know just how many more books there are to get to. The faster, the better.
DeleteI agree with you, Nana! Although I like the idea of a bargain, I find them rather overwhelming. The only boxed set I finished and thoroughly enjoyed - in fact, I'd say it's the best book I've read this year, was the Magical Weddings Boxed Set: http://www.amazon.com/Magical-Weddings-15-Enchanting-Romances-ebook/dp/B00Y1PUA3W What I liked about it is that they weren't full length stories - they weren't short, short stories either. They just kept me going for the right amount of time and they were such a variation of styles and genres, yet each had a touch of fantasy - just my cup of tea. Other than that, I don't think I've finished many boxed sets.
ReplyDeleteSounds like they were novellas. I could do a whole post on those, too. Box sets are a commitment.
DeleteI still have Nana Malone's box set on my kindle yet to be read before it got lost. I guess the size or magnitude somehow is a downturner. I shall try this time.
ReplyDeleteWhen you get your Kindle, read the Stiletto series. Once you start you won't be able to put it down. So good.
