Review: I Dare You by Farrah Rochon

The Blurb

As a wild child, Stefanie Sutherland-Thomas never backed down from a dare. But the responsible, low-key role she has grown into as a widowed single mother and Army nurse has her feeling stuck in a rut. When her best friend challenges her to do something daring while on vacation, Stef picks up the gauntlet. Her mission: to have a one-night stand with a random island hottie. But Stef gets the shock of her life when she discovers her casual hook-up isn’t some random stranger; he’s her brother’s boss!

Dustin “Hawk” Patrick knows a thing or two about taking risks. The ex-Navy pilot gambled by striking out on his own and now owns one of the fastest growing helicopter shuttle services in the Gulf South. But now everyone wants a piece of his business. Desperate for a reprieve from the pressures of work, Dustin uses his best friend’s wedding in Turks and Caicos as an opportunity to engage in a stress-free fling. Until he discovers his hot island angel is his best friend’s sister—in other words, off limits. But after just one taste of Stefanie’s passionate kiss, Dustin knows he can never let her go.

When it comes to love, will Dustin and Stefanie dare to let their desires take control?

My Review
I swear, every book in this series gets more amazing than the last. I was waiting for Stefanie’s story to unfold right after reading Stefan’s (her twin brother). Longing for it actually. A military ER nurse can only have a fabulous story line. And she does.

One thing I really enjoyed about this novella was that it started out hot and heavy, simmered for a while as a friendship grew between Dustin and Stefanie and then it blazed again. A wonderful romance.

I’m so happy I have book five on my Kindle to jump into.

I purchased this book from Amazon.

I give this book five pineapple shaped chocolate bars.

Trifecta Review of the Moments in Maplesville novella series Farrah Rochon

I discovered Ms. Rochon by accident on Twitter. Now I’m in love with her work. I enjoy when a series has been published and I can read through them without waiting. So far I’ve flown through three of the Moments in Maplesville novellas. And I have more to go. Yay.

A Perfect Holiday Fling
It’s no mystery why veterinarian Callie Webber is having a hard time getting into the holiday spirit. When the residents of her small hometown aren’t pitying her because of her ex-husband’s very public departure, they’re attempting to hook her up with a man…any man. Fed up with being everyone’s favorite charity case, Callie considers closing her animal clinic and moving to the big city. But, before she goes, she decides to give herself a Christmas treat to remember: a romantic holiday fling. And who better to have a fling with than the gorgeous newcomer who is turning heads around Maplesville?

When injured Navy pilot Stefan Sutherland reluctantly rescues a gutter cat for the sake of his five-year-old nephew, he never imagined it would lead to him discovering Maplesville’s most fascinating attraction…its smoking hot vet. Getting involved with a woman was the last thing Stefan anticipated when he agreed to care for his nephew during his Army nurse sister’s deployment, but if he’s going to spend the holidays in this sleepy Southern town, why not make the most of it with the perfect holiday fling.

My Review
For a novella, this book is packed with romance. An alpha male who’s being stripped of his identity and an intelligent, beautiful go getter who feels as if she may need to leave her hometown for greener pastures. Callie and Stefan meet each other at just the right time. Their chemistry is intense. A wonderful romance with a lovely Christmas vibe.

I purchased this book from Amazon.

Just a Little Bit Naughty

Sometimes a girl can't help being a little bit naughty...

Jada Dangerfield was living her fairy tale—married to her high school sweetheart and working in her dream job—until it all came crashing down. Struggling to make ends meet, the unemployed divorcĂ©e stumbles upon a decidedly naughty new income stream, selling erotic toys to the women of her small hometown. And when Jada gets the chance to host a "Naughty Nights" party at the home of her uptight life-long nemesis Mason Coleman, she realizes it’s the perfect way to get under the skin of the one person who has always made her feel as if she wasn’t good enough.

Mason Coleman relishes his career as a high-powered tax attorney, but his most important job is keeping the promise he made to his father to watch out for his baby sister...even though she hasn't been a "baby" in thirty years. When he learns that his sister may be in trouble, Mason is forced to call on the one person he's never been able to abide, her brash and sexy friend, Jada Dangerfield. There's just one problem...how does he stop Jada from corrupting his sister with her kinky new business?

When this unlikely pair is forced to work together, things get a little bit naughty.

My Review
I loved Jada and her sassy self in book one. She brings back the spunk in book 2. Her tenacious nature when life has kicked her down, was inspiring.

Romance between enemies who aren’t really enemies made for a great time. And yes the title delivers.

I purchased this book from Amazon.

Just a Little Taste

After a lifetime of depending on others, Kiera Coleman is ready to control her own fate. The small-town caterer has big plans for her new food truck venture, and this time she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat. There’s just one problem…the best food truck renovator in the business is the guy who years ago broke her young heart.

Trey Watson has gone from being a hell-raising risk taker to a successful entrepreneur, so when Kiera hires him to renovate her food truck, he jumps at the chance to return to his small hometown and show people just what he’s made of himself. Nothing could have prepared him for the rekindled feelings that emerge when he comes face to face with the girl who once owned his heart. As familiar passion ignites between them, Trey is determined to show Kiera that the love they once shared deserves a second chance. But Kiera has no intention of losing her heart to Trey again.

When passion flares in the sleepy town of Maplesville, Trey and Kiera both learn that just a little taste is never enough.

My Review
This is the third book I’ve read in this series and I swear they keep getting better. Sexy as sin, Trey, had my Kindle on fire. The past he and Kiera shared had me wondering what happened between them. When I found out it made sense, and Trey no longer seemed like a jerk (sorry, no spoilers).

I purchased this book from Amazon.
