O is for Oprah Winfrey (My ode)

I’m trying to not get too excited about this post. I LOVE OPRAH. I don’t know the woman personally (a tear of disappointment rolls down my face), but I love her work. She is the epitome of a strong woman. What I find amazing is all she has had to go through in her life, all the people she has helped along the way, and how fabulous she is.

Oprah’s Book Club opened me up to so many books I never would have read. Back in college the woman I used to work for used to buy all of the books that Oprah recommended. I benefited from her extensive collection. Whatever book Oprah recommends flies off the bookshelves. The woman has such great taste that she can’t contain it, it leaks out and spreads all over the world.

How many writers have thought to themselves, If only I could get on Oprah’s book read list. It’s never too late. Oprah still reads and one day someone may recommend your book, or mine, to her and the next thing you know your books have wings.

Oprah rocks. By the way my last name and her first name have ‘prah’ in it. Coincidence? I think not people.

  1. She certainly is a strong woman to be able to do all that she's achieved. She really has done so much good in this world.

  2. I never missed her show. It came on at a good time for me - 4 in the afternoon. I'd wait with bated breath for her to reveal her new book. She's done a lot of great things but getting the country reading again will always be what I consider one of her greatest achievements. Something so simple, yet so important.
